Lauren is passionate about place-based planning and fostering strong community engagement through each step of the planning process. She is personally enthusiastic about emphasizing the importance of planning with a relational worldview and weaving her life experience and cultures into her planning perspectives and practices.

While at Western Washington University, Lauren organized the Urban & Environmental Planning and Policy’s Indigenous Housing Summit. The Indigenous Housing Summit brought together professionals, community members and students to explore the intersection of Indigenous community planning, housing, and community resilience. Lauren successfully developed an event that created a space for those working in, or around, Indigenous community planning to create meaningful connections and share knowledge.

Through her role at Measure Meant she is excited to utilize her education and perspectives to aid in the development of more sustainable communities and the protection of our natural world.
