The Grain Shed
The Need
The Grain Shed, a beloved Spokane bakery and brewery fueled by sustainably and locally grown grain, sought to formalize the successful business culture they had created. A relatively new business, run under a co-op model, the Grain Shed started from the ground up in a very democratic and environmentally sustainable way.
The Work
We helped translate their practices into well documented processes, enabling them to track their positive impact and prepare for B Corp certification. A few of our specific projects included creating an employee handbook and job descriptions, developing employee satisfaction surveys, and a methodology for supplier tracking - all specific to their company culture and certification goals.
The Impact
The Grain Shed is now better able to communicate their story to customers and their own employees and worker-owners, especially as they hire new staff. They will now be able to track key metrics over time to watch their positive impact grow.
